Embrey Partners’ latest mixed-use project on Broadway clears zoning

A prominent 4-acre plot on Broadway Street is one step closer to being transformed into a new mixed-use property.

On Thursday, local developer Embrey Partners Ltd. received zoning approval from the San Antonio City Council for a project at 7600 Broadway St. on the triangular block bounded by Broadway Street, Nacogdoches Road and East Nottingham Drive. Embrey Partners is planning 223 apartments and 60,000 square feet of office space. The complex will be six stories tall, with offices on the bottom three floors and residences on the top three floors.

Embrey Partners plans to move its corporate headquarters to the new building and occupy a floor. The company’s current office is at 1020 NE Interstate 410 Loop.

“The zoning change is a successful step toward creating significant improvements for residents of this area,” John Kirk, executive vice president of development for Embrey Partners, said in a statement. “This development will be in keeping with the neighborhood plan, and we really did what we felt was best for our neighbors.”
